Joisu: fractional CTO for The Feel Good Engine

Raven Studios serves as fractional CTO for Joisu and its product, The Feel Good Engine, a clinician-led wellness platform. Patients check in and find support, and their clinicians see what needs attention. We own the architecture, the delivery pipeline, security, and the build.

The client

Joisu builds The Feel Good Engine for clinical practices. Clinicians stay in control of what their patients are offered, and patients get a calm, simple place to check in and find support.

We work as Joisu's technology leadership: the person in the room for technical decisions, and the team that ships them.

The problem

The product began as a workplace wellness tool and was refocused on clinical practices. That kind of shift changes who the users are, what they can see, and how carefully everything has to be built.

It needed someone senior to steer the platform through the change without stopping the work, and to put real engineering discipline under a growing product.

What we did

  • Architecture. Reshaped the platform around clinicians and their patients, including who can see what and how sensitive information is handled.
  • Delivery pipeline. Separate test and production environments on Google Cloud and Firebase, with automatic deploys to test so changes are reviewed before they reach real people.
  • Security. Tightened access rules and set the release gate: nothing reaches production until it has been reviewed in the test environment.
  • Product. Led the clinician portal redesign and the rebuild of the marketing site at feelgoodengine.com, and turned product decisions into a tracked engineering backlog.

Where it stands

The Feel Good Engine is preparing for its first clinical practices, built on a platform with a clear release process and a technical leader accountable for it.

Stack

React and TypeScript, Firebase, and Google Cloud, with GitHub Actions for delivery.
